The beautiful village of Kelvedon Hatch is well known for its once-secret nuclear bunker which is now a museum and is close by to the campsite. For a day trip out in your motorhome, why not visit Mountnessing Windmill, a restored working post mill and for the kids, Old MacDonald’s Farm, a leisure park aimed at children and families. You can also catch a train from Brentwood town into London and visit some of the most outstanding Museum London has to offer or take a ride on The London Eye and see the spectacular view of London and Big Ben.
For some beach action you can head to Southend on Sea, there the Three Shells and the town’s most central beach offers easy access to the 1st free admission theme park Adventure Island , The Pier and numerous shops, cafes and amusements.
For those that like to take their best friend away with them, why try a dog friendly beach like Thorney Bay Beach in Canvey Island, Essex which holds a blue flag and runs along the Thames Estuary or the Sandy Shoebury East and Shoeburyness Beaches which are also blue flag beaches. Our second nearest Camping and Caravanning Site to the Wests Motorhome Hire is just across the River Thames in Kent, The Oldbury Hill , located in Sevenoaks, Kent and this is a Club Site.

The Oldbury Hill Club campsite is situated in an idyllic spot within Styants Woods, the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, opposite a huge Iron Age fort built sometime between 150 and 50 BC and is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
This area is great for walkers and cyclists, it gives you the chance to get out and explore the stunning 166 acres of woodland and countryside the surrounds this campsite. The woods benefit from a good network of paths, including two waymarked circular trails and the large Iron Age Hill fort. The hill is now covered with woodland and is managed by the National Trust, you can also walk from the campsite to Ightham Mote, a medieval moated manor house with a 14-acre garden and restaurant.
Just a short car journey from the campsite you can visit some of the most beautiful places in the area, The Knole - a National Trust run English country house set in a deer park, Penshurst Palace and Gardens, the National Trust run Chartwell - a family home of Winston Churchill, the beautiful Emmetts Garden and Hever Castle and Gardens.
